Strategic OUTREACH framework

Liaison between the agency and constituents, elected officials, faith and community leaders, community boards and homeless support organizations. 

 "Communitywide strategic planning is a pivotal step in ending homelessness and has been shown to demonstrably result in decreases in homelessness when the plans are well-crafted and implemented." (U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness) 

 An effective operation relies on clear and thorough training. Training prepares volunteers and employees for their specific roles and importantly, increases their understanding of the issue of homelessness.  

 Being present on the street and willing to engage in the issue is a tremendous opportunity to gain trust and allies in our efforts to end homelessness. 

 Community engagements are collaborative events coordinated between community agencies that serve the homeless, local VAs, and other government agencies.  They have been used as an effective tool in reaching out to homeless veterans.
